This day trip includes initially a visit to the traditional village of Palea Roumata . From Palea Roumata we will walk to the neighbor village of Vavouledo. We will visit the picturesque old church of Agios Vassilios and the Holy Cross an area with chestnuts and huge trees. The current church is the extension in the 19th century of the initial smaller single-nave arched church of Savior Christ, dating back to the 15th century. The old temple bears rich fresco decoration dating back to 1461. From Agios Vassilios church we will head towards Vavouledo Gorge which is a beautiful little canyon 3km long with clear water running almost all year round. The canyon is covered by shady trees across the path. At the exit of the gorge our mini van will take us to the local Cretan Brewery (Charma Beer) where is scheduled 1hour guided tour accompanied by beer tasting of 4 different beer styles and light snacks such as cheese, cold cuts, tomato, Cretan olives
