The cheese factory is owned by the esteemed Foundoulakis family for three generations. Our guests will have the chance to savour a variety of Cretan cheeses such as mizithra,graviera,anthotiro,feta accompanied by a delightful wine-tasting experience with our experienced sommelier. You will get insider knowledge on the art of cheese making from our local experts.

A day trip visit to the historical mountainous village of Palaia Roumata with rich vegetation while its main feature is the rich cultural history and its cooperative activity from the ancient times. A place with many byzantine chapels within a amazing landscape. First stop is the Monumental Olive Tree of more than 3000 years age one of the oldest olive trees in Chania area. We will then visit the local women’s cooperative that has a remarkable activity. The members of the association are local women who prepare traditional Cretan products while contributing to the promotion and development of traditional weaving. Homemade products using the olive oil,wine,honey,tsikoudia,fruits produced in the village. Specifically the village workshop produces xerotigana,pasteli,cookies,helopites and chondro. Next stop is the Public Library of the village dated from 1944 with more than 6.000 books and rare old pictures. After the tour in this beautiful village we will visit a local kafeneio taste some local delicacies and enjoy a glass of raki . The feast of the colors and scents of this area is memorable
